I think Buffy's being a little too optimistic about this road trip. Dana is, well Dana, and that means things aren't going to go as planned.

And both Angel (girl's name "snorfle") and Spike are going to be in big trouble.

Cool how Dana thinks about Spike.

"Dana is handed her own ticket and passport. She gets to hold these things like a Normal Person and she sits in her own seat and isn’t tied to anything." - That sounds so sad and so true...

Dana is tragic, isn't she? She hasn't really had any sort of independent life, having been institutionalized since she was young.

I'm a sucker for an outsider POV, and Dana's here is fascinating. You really capture Buffy's character here though- I have no trouble thinking this is exactly what she'd do in these circumstances. But I also suspect that things... aren't going to go as planned. What an intriguing story! So glad rebcake posted that link!

Thank you. I'm glad you're still enjoying. This chapter sure is rough to me, on re-read. Buffy's a great character to write because she's a woman of action - when in doubt, send her off! :D
