today i had my first oral exam since secondary school, 7,5 years ago. it was my only exam this semester as i dropped a written one i should've had on monday because i felt i didn't have the time to read for two. especially since the written one was in a subject i hardly understand and i really wanted to be prepared for the oral one. but in the end ( Read more... )

Yay, holidays, enjoy! Management of freshwater fish is a funny subject to have an exam about :) I had only once an oral exam during my studies, and I was very nervous in the beginning as well, and then my professor who's a bit crazy had forgotten my exam and asked what I was doing, when I arrived o_o I'll have now still 2 written and 3 oral exams as my final exams and the only thing I'm looking forward to about them is getting rid of them, of course. :)

In language tests we usually had an oral and a written part and I always did better in the written part... while during my exchange year in Finland all exams were written ones.
I think, that having had so many oral exams in Italy and passing them all must have given you a lot of "Selbstbewusstsein" (selfconsciousness?), at least I heard that from others who studied in Italy for some time, and you can be very proud of yourself :)

i don't know if i got more confident with the orals i passed in italy. certainly it was good for practising my italian that way, but what really made me more confident are situations in my job now :)
when i have to manage things alone, discuss topics with people, tell decisions (that are not mine) but need to find reasons for them etc.

what a strange subject for an exam! that's not even close to anything you're studying or is it? yay for passing it anyways, that's the most important thing afterall! :)
