Can I get some confirmation on the following?

1. 德光-san said thanks to NEWS for their hard work, and said that if it weren't for them, it wouldn't be as successful this year. This year's donation is higher than the previous years. (Did he really say this? When, where?... well, I think others were doing great too, but thanks for saying this if he did

Don't know where that info came from but I haven't watched most of the clips that aired Monday-Tuesday morning, maybe he said something there or in an article? If he did that's kind of him ^^ I haven't seen a final donation number yet but only looked in the entertainment news and wikipedia so maybe it's out somewhere else ^^

I heard the thing about Massu going in place of Ryo also, but don't know where the information came from either- do tell if you find out.

Looking at the Japanese wiki entry for 24 hour tv it looks something like this:
2005 19.0 - Kusanagi, Katori
2007 18.6 - Takki & Tsubasa
2008 18.6 - ARASHI
2006 17.7 - KAT-TUN
1992 17.2 - Downtown
1995 16.9 - SMAP
2009 16.8 - NEWS

Since 2005 ratings have been going up but most before that are below 15%.

yeah, I haven't watched clips aired Mon-Tues.. same thought here, it'd be really kind of him if he said and really thought that ^^ and if I find a reliable source for those, sure I'll update or tell in another post.

ah, I see.. I'm still optimistic about the ratings. Sure it's lower than the four previous years, but drama ratings can drop so much these years, 24Hr TV can for similar reasons right? There's election too.. though I don't know if they met other problems in the previous years. No matter what, I'm really glad already. :D I was touched by the show and their performance and that means more than ratings. ^^

I'm optimistic about it too, I think it's fine for them- they kept the ratings at the 16%+ mark the show has been keeping lately even with the election and other craziness. And yes, in the end I was touched as a fan of NEWS and as just a viewer of the show in general so no complaints ♥

"Makenaide" and not exact but something like
2.55+ billion
