wow, great job from hasbro. he proved to be worth the try when you bid on it without having a good picture of it.
too bad hasbro didn't give him a bit more articulation. that's the only little minus i see about him. how about a lightsaber for him? i could imagine that he would look more impressive with a black cape! maybe you could make him one?
it's strange that e.g. old G.I.Joe had better articulation and newer Hasbro figures didn't. I'd also like more articulation but he can just stand and look scary :)
I thought about making him a cape, that shouldn't be too difficult but the lightsaber IS a problem :( he also misses a belt but it's not that visible I had the same problem with Obi-Wan Kenobi - no lightsaber - but then I bought a young Kenobi with all accessories. conclusion? - I need to buy another Vader figure, preferably with mask taken off ;)
i understand that, too: hasbro already has better articulated bodies and they aren't using them. they aready have cool fabric backpacks and they are using later ugly molted ones again. same with lots of other accessoirs. but hasbro doesn't seem to be accessible to logic anyway: who else would stop a well-selling 12-inch figure line?
how about coloured straws for the lightsaber? we have two kinds in germany and the smaller ones could be right for that purpose.
naked Vader is scary, isn't he? :D his gloves are made of rubber but they look really cool, thanks this removable outfit makes me think about doing bad things to him, like dressing him in pyjamas with ducklings and putting him in bed with a teddy bear... ;)
Ooh, he is so amorous with bare arms and legs... ;)
I confess that I've never seen SW movies fully since my brain is too poor to understand the SF world, but I admired the Armor and the Helmet of him for our Children's Festival at May 5th in here Japan. Have you seen that??
The company (and the shop) Yoshitoku is near my neighborhood and I had no attention to him as I often pass the shop, I 'll got there to take some pix in a weekday shortly. :)
Oh my god, he's marvelous! Thanks so much for the link! I haven't seen this figure before, it's amazing. I would be great if you could take some pictures in this shop but take your time :) I hear about your Children's Festival often and it must be a great holiday. We've got Children's Day on June 1st but it's nothing special.
Don't worry about Star Wars, it may be very popular but most of the world doesn't like it anyway ;) Surprisingly my sister, who can't stand sci-fi at all, loves Star Wars :)
