The attack on our border changes nothing.  Figaro's attack is childish harassment and nothing more.  Let's be concerned when they bring a real assault to our borders.

But we will not stand idly by.  Our priority is full control of the river between our border with Tohofuhai.  We will mount an assault with the forcers along our ( Read more... )

Prepare a force, take some boats, attack under cover of night. I say use the men arriving on the boarder who were originally intended for the Echiki invasion. The men who were already there can continue border guard duty.

That's an obvious target, so they're probably expecting an attack. Do you really think the force that was going to go to Echiki will be sufficient?

It would be difficult if we cared about the condition of the land, but all that matters in this case is control of the river. Crushing an opponent when not attempting to maintain their infrastructure is a good deal more simple when you can employ catapults and other siege weapons.

Hmph. I'd still recommend a two-pronged attack, but I'm not here as your tactician.

I believe that a single strong force punching through the defensive line and moving along to raze would be just as effective since the primary concern is to drive them from the river bank and destroy their infrastructure there. Dividing the attack force won't be necessary.

But once we obtain a foot hold across the river, I had already decided to divide our force, the larger contingent moving down river to bombard them, the smaller keeping them from reinforcing the river by moving north to harass the enemy.

Burn their villages and fields. They'll have to consider that the greater, unignorable threat, and even soldiers will have a hard time fighting forces of nature.

If you want to go with the smaller force, you're more than welcome, but be aware, I don't expect a battle many of those men will return from. I expect it to be one that will cost them more than it will cost us.
