Our family has been frequenting a nice quaint diner recently. It has that nice small town charm. My one-year-old is a great restaurant baby. He sits quietly in his high chair and enjoys being out. The waitresses love him

I actually handled it more calmly than I would have thought. My husband's whole family thinks I am way too overprotective. I was right behind him as he headed out the door. But, who does that? Though I have noticed that since I have had the baby, complete strangers take liberties I would never do to someone else's kid. For example, They walk up and pull his binkie right out. I don't want strangers handling something he puts in his mouth. Also, it startles him and then he cries. Thanks stranger you just made my baby cry, are you happy?
He is normally very calm & well-behaved. I understand people want to touch him. But, I don't want people I don't know touching him. I don't trust my relatives to have clean hands. I definitely don't want a stranger grabbing him.
Sorry for the long vent. Since the baby came along, I don't talk to many people anymore.
One of my co-workers said a woman on the elevator started to stroke her (my co-worker's) stomach, and asked, "When are you due?" But...my co-worker isn't pregnant. She has the teeniest bit of belly flab, that's all.
So...what is UP with people?? I would *never* presume to touch your baby, or mess with his binkie, let alone carry him out the door! Even when I know the parents, I don't assume I can just do as I please with their baby! You get no arguments from me for looking after your son.

If the man is slow, someone should definitely talk to him about not making off with people's kids, even if his intentions are harmless.
