[Shinju lies face up in the central plaza, exactly where his homonculus double was killed lol timewarp. Slowly, he wakes up, and his sightless eyes stare up towards the sky for a moment, confused. Isn't he supposed to be restrained in the hospital...? He's outside... but how did he get here? Why does he feel like he's been sleeping forever

"AAAAUUUGH!"

Kaito screamed as loudly as he could from the foul-smelling spot here his body had been left rotting all this time. He gasped and coughed staring straight up at the sky. He could see it...

Clear as if it were happening again...

He rolled to one side, shuddering. No, no no no... That... He was deleted again. Tears fell down the vocaloid's face like rain as fear and panic swelled within him. He died.

He died died died died... Deleted. He was deleted. He tried to defend himself and he couldn't. Silently begging for help he pressed a hand against the left side of his head.

...He couldn't feel anything under the skin.

The vocaloid leapt to his feet, frantically slapping the left side of his head. "No! No! Brother, don't leave me alone! Brother, if I can't protect anyone how can..." Before long Kaito was crying so hard that he forgot to breathe. "I can't be alone..."

His eyes shut and he took off to a run. Raivis... Kresnik... ANYONE! No! Don't leave him alone! He couldn't be alone in a world that wanted him dead!

He heard the footsteps approach, but he wasn't focused enough to recognize them as those of the vocaloid. It was only when he heard the sobs and voice that he knew it was Kaito. He was crying... saying he didn't want to die? What happened...?

Slowly, Shinju sat up and spoke hesitantly, with a quiet voice.

"K-Kai... to?"

A small gasp escaped the vocaloid. He looked up, relieved to find that Shinju wasn't wearing black. His jealousy and fears now things of the past, the vocaloid desperately charged at the blind young man. In mere seconds, Kaito's tearful face was pressed against Shinju's chest and the vocaloid was hugging him as tightly as his arms could go.

"Sh-Shinju! Shinju b-be careful! S-someone... Th-they look like us and..." Another round of tears exploded from Kaito. "I'm all alone! I-I was deleted! A-and now... I have no one to protect me... I'm going to die! I don't want to die! I don't-- I don't--" The rest of his words just turned into sobs. He could barely breathe from crying so hard. He was so scared.

Being hugged was certainly the last thing he was expecting out of the vocaloid, so it took him a few moments before moving to lightly pat him on the back. He had to comfort him...

"K-Kaito... it's okay... You're alive. You won't..." He stopped, at a loss for words. What could he say? That he wouldn't die? In the City, there was no guarantee of that... and he couldn't say he'd protect him, either. He'd given up his strength to make sure he couldn't hurt anyone again.

"Don't be scared. I'll... be here for you," he finally offered, deciding it was the only thing he could honestly give.

[After the last homunculus was killed off, which was that Shinju doppelganger known as Despair, Kresnik decided to scout the area just to make sure that all of those beings were actually dead. With the help of Luka, he managed to kill his own sin too]

[Arriving at the plaza, Kresnik looked around while holding his ARM, his eyes scanning the place for anything suspicious. Not much- is that Shinju on the ground? He hasn't heard from him since the homunculus started to arrive. Forming his normal serious expression, the soldier walked up to him]

[Shinju heard the commander's footsteps, but still tensed slightly at his name being said. It seemed so cold...]

K... K-- [He couldn't even bear to say his name. He doesn't deserve to use it...] --ommmander...

[His expression didn't change to Shinju's stuttering, but he briefly glanced over him to make sure that the boy wasn't injured]

You have been missing for a while, the others will be relieved to know that you're safe. Have you sustained any injuries?

[He shook his head lightly.] N-no... I'm fine.

[The young man paused for a moment.] How long was I gone...?

*Amaterasu couldn't smell the homunculus anymore, but still made her rounds around the City, just in case. Passing the fountain, she spots Shinju lying there and tilts her head to the side, troting over. Sniffing his face, she nudges him with her nose, letting out a whine.*

*Shinju looks curiously in the wolf's direction when he hears her approach, not entirely recognizing the steps. He jolts a bit when he feels the nudge, though more out of surprise than anything. This aura... it seems familiar for some reason...

Slowly, he rolls to his side and sits up, reaching out a hand to pet Amaterasu, pausing a bit before speaking.* I feel like we've met before...

*Amaterasu lets out a bark, and butts Shinju's hand, tail wagging.*

*He can't help but smile, petting the white wolf and scratching behind her ears.* I guess you're stuck here too.

I feel like I've been out of it for a while... I wonder what happened. I hope everyone is alright...

Emeraude had found herself back in the City after another stunning impression of neverending pain and darkness pressing itself around her; it hadn't changed at all. The plaza looked like the same old place it was before, the fountain still the same. However, just looking at it sent a shiver down her spine, and a painful throb through her entire body at the memory of her most recent death at the hands of her boyfriend's cruel double.

In glancing away from it, her eyes fell on a most familiar form. A pang went through her chest, both painful and sympathetic, and slowly she began moving towards him. She couldn't be too careful, after all.

"Shinju..?"

At the sound of his name, Shinju's eyes began to search for the source, turning his head towards her.

"Emeraude?" he asked quietly.

It was definitely him, she decided, as she hurried towards him, curls bouncing. Her fear tightened in her chest as she dropped to her knees beside him, instantly pulling him into a close embrace.

"Shinju..." Emmy gasped, clutching him tightly. Her voice seemed to almost break as she continued, "It...it's you, isn't it? Actually you?"

Shinju was attempting to sit up when she pulled him to her, so he was a little surprised at the sudden movement, and took a second to regain his (nearly non-existant) composure. He put his arms around her as well, stroking her hair gently.

"Of course it's me," he replied quietly, concerned and unsure of why she was so upset. "It's alright. I'm right here, okay?"
