so i'm trying to edit a paper my friend (a fellow bio major graduate) is submitting to a scientific journal for publication and i'm on pg 6. i dont think i've left a single sentence unaltered and it's to the point where i'm beginning to think "maybe this is good writing and i just suck at english now" or "maybe i'm just not reading any of this ( Read more... )

Oh no Jennie, I think you're right to edit all of it. The English is pretty funky IMO... "This segment is to touch more on one of the most common problems seen in horses, back pain"? There's bad grammar for you. :P

I concur. The English is a bit off on it all. Is the fellow graduate a native speaker? Much of the offness seems to be simple mistakes that I've seen in a lot of works by those whose first language is not English. (All of those fun CS papers.) Of course, this reply is four days later so you've probably finished it. Now I just have to poke you awake one day to do something with you that's not school related.

Well, it's Tuesday night so I'm gonna guess it's too late for dinner tonight. For the email part, the Stetson email is for life so I still have that one, or the roadrunner account, or even my gmail account. I check all three through Outlook so it doesn't matter which one you send it to.

In summary,
lschindl@stetson.edu
amichiba@cfl.rr.com
amichiba@gmail.com

I make it easy. The only email that I have (long ago) given up on is my hotmail account. Otherwise, I have the same emails (well, the roadrunner one) for like six years or so now. (Go me!)

Tell me if you have any other opportunities for meet and greets this week. Otherwise, um... maybe I'll bump into your mom at Target again. That's kinda like seeing you. Sorta. :)
