Congrats on the new job! If you need help getting some experience for teacher's college, my mom's a newly minted principal in the TDSB. She was willing to help out my older sister's ex-boyfriend for experience.
And thanks, both for the congrats and your mom's kind offer (and congrats to her too on the new minting). I may well take her up on it, as I need to find a volunteer position once grad school starts in the fall.
congrats on the esl job! you kids today and your gainful employment. =)
i'm glad pride was fun - i only walked around with ambrose on sunday night, after the parade was long over, and i CANNOT BELIEVE I MISSED THE MOUNTIES. my due south fangirlishness will just have to be satisfied with reruns, i guess. and on the topic of xena, there's an episode of this show called 'the oblongs' that you really need to see sometime - one character is a fan of a show about a leather-clad heroine named velva with sapphic subtext that rapidly approaches text. =D the parody is a little dumb, but it's still pretty funny.
I thought about Due South too. I don't really see Fraser as a marching in Pride parades kind of guy, but the real-life pair was just so adorable - it combined weddings, men in uniform, Canadiana, and a sunny Sunday all rolled into one. Could anything *be* more wholesome?
oddly, i DO see fraser as a marching in pride parades kind of guy, just because he's a MARCHING kind of guy, . of course, this could just be because i'm incredibly cruel, because in my head he's marching along happily while one of the rays tries to talk him out of it, and fraser's all "nonsense, ray, these good citizens need our support!", and then a naked man walks by, and fraser's like "oh. oh dear." and then ray's like "yyyyeah." and fraser's like, "i think perhaps i'll conduct my campaigns for tolerance and civil rights in a less public capacity," and ray's like "good idea benny." (or "fraser", depending on your choice of ray.) um...the end. *^_^*

Hey...
I was one of the people marching with Kulanu, the queer Jewish group that had the "Eat Me, I'm Kosher" sign. Just as a heads up, we aren't just geared towards women, we're open to all queer Jews. Feel free to check out our website at www.kulanutoronto.ca
