I am offcially really confused. Okay, so I haven't done so well in math this semester. And by havn't done well, I mean that I've slept through every class, because I've already taken multivar, and I'm just generaly a bad kid, so I'm was getting B. Near the end of the semster, I didn't do the homework quite as frequently as I should have. Then ( Read more... )

*gasp* Are PowerBooks the ones with the screens on the back? Because those are so hot. Patrick has one, and we had a long discussion with my USEM group about how a hot laptop is a huge asset to a guy, because it demonstrates that he has resources to spend on useless things and thus that he has resources to spend on you and your offspring. I can explain the original example later, if you want...

I will totally be there on Tuesday. I am excited the special workout isn't on Thursday, because we have guests then. I assume we're going out to dinner afterwards, like last year?

Yeah, I told my dad about my chem grades (which I was proud of, and which I felt like I deserved), and he said, "What happened to the A's"? So, I hope everything goes well with math.

I don't think there's training on Thursday because it's the 24th.

If anybody can help the parent battle by claiming better grades than me, do so proudly and truthfully.

I'm coming home...well, TODAY! YEAH!

Wow, my bad, massive misread of the calendar. Thursday is the 22nd, but I though that Wednesday was the last day of school. Yeah, botch.

Training, Tuesday? Sounds FUN. Even though I feel yucky right now.. haha my body is so predictable. I get a cold about as frequently as my period. Which is more often than once a month. Which sucks.

Anyways. When Erica says screens on back, are you talking about tablets? Cuz those really are hot. Like, totally. (But obviously not as awesome as my laptop. :D)

Hey hey have you guys seen Narnia yet? Even if you have, wanna get a group together to go see it sometime next week? Huh? Yeah yeah yeah? *happy puppy panting noises*

Yeah...I'm glad to hear your happy grade story, but I don't have all that many of those this semester. Actually, I have one. But I took the multivar final tonight and...if I get better than a B in Multivar, that's unexpectedly good.

The reason the slope is steepest in the direction of the gradient is that you dot the gradient with the unit vector in the direction you're traveling to get the change. When you dot a vector with itself, the angle theta between the vector and itself is 0 and thus the the cosine is 1. Using A dot B = |A||B|cos(theta), we know that the dot product (or change) is a maximum when cos(theta) is a maximum, thus when theta = 0 or the vectors have the same direction.
I wish we'd had that one.

I was definitely hoping to go to training while I'm home. I think Casey might come too. It will be very cool not to be the only alum there!

This makes me very, very sad. My lj now has math problems in it. I think the only way that I might forgive you would be if you helped me with my parent's home networking requests. Is there an easy way to add wireless capabilities to a wired router? Like, my parents want the two desktops to still be wired, and not have to put wireless thingies in the, but they want a wireless option for my sister's and mom's laptops. Do we just get a little transmitter thing that can be plugged into our router, somehow hook it up to an additional wireless router, or do we have to get a new router that somehow has both? Sorry if this is totally incoherent, I'm not so good at explaining things.

First of all Bryan if you read this you are a loser. Ew. no math on livejournal. Second, yeah, lisa, be verryyy happy about your math story. I'm hoping for a C. Not even kidding. So yeah. Lovely. Are you going to Jess's? See you soon, nevertheless!!

Maybe the grades were curved? So that's why you have an A? Calc II (second half of BC) here is apparently mega-curved, cause it's just a killer class.

Emailing and checking is always a good idea though.

Or a BAD idea! Lisa, don't check. Be happy for the A. You'll feel like such a chump if you email and your grade gets taken down. Just tell yourself it was curved (it probably was) and that you deserved it. You're good at math, so take the A, forget about the possibility of a mistake, and be happy.
