I pay $160 per year. I think it's about $30,000 of coverage with a deductible of 500, but it's been so long since I signed up for it that I'm not sure about anything except what it costs me each year. You could certainly get less cheaper, even with a lower deduct. They give you a little thing to fill out to help you figure out how much your stuff is worth, but you don't have to go all the way. I'm sure most of your worth is like ours and tied up in small media items, which far outweigh the few big ticket items like a tv.

That's nae bad at all. That's so not bad that I wonder why never did it before. Add that to the list of things to pick up after I move.

I wonder if I'll be able to tack it onto my work insurace policy or if I'll have to go find an insurance agent like a normal person.

I have State Farm for auto insurance and they cut me a super deal on a package deal that has a renter's/car insurance combo, and it costs me less than have one or the other by itself. Worth looking into.

Don't let the man get you down.
