"Don't go getting ideas, this is way too much for us to handle, even if we wanted to. I don't want anyone running off to be a hero because you'll only get yourself killed." He grinned, cruelly. "You're good, flamesilocks, but you're not that good. Stay out of it."

"I..." He stopped and turned to pick the chair up, his movements feeling fuzzy, muffled and strangely distant. He closed his eyes to try and order everything. He had to think. Simply reacting wasn't doing him any good. "When?"

"A little over a week. If you've got ideas of trying to get people out, think again. You're short on time and resources." Xigbar shrugged. "Not to mention that people aren't gonna believe you."

And you never did shake that soft spot for the wide eyed innocents.
Out loud, Xigbar said, "That still means you gotta get there, get in, get them, convince them, and get out." He shook his head, "And you'd better hope that they're the type who'll go quietly instead of causing a big panic by trying to warn other people. Between a stampede for the exits and what's gonna go off, your odds of getting out get really slim, kid. To say nothing of what happens if people outside find out you knew about it in advance. I'm not having people associated with us bring that sort of unfavourable attention onto all of us, if you catch my drift." Xigbar sounded pleasant enough, but that was when he was being most dangerous.

He paused, looking as though he had a bigger, longer argument to throw back at him. His hands were clenched on the table in front of him and his breathing was a little short. In the end, he shook his head and finished somewhat lamely with;
"Get it memorized."
