The phrase comes from a classic sci fi book, "Stranger in a Strange Land." If you haven't read it, then I would highly recommend it. A peculiar novel which drew its fan base from hard science fiction fans and hippies and peaceniks. Unlike "psychodelic" and other terms from the '60s, "grok" is as vibrant a word today as it has ever been.

I like the picture you've used in conjunction with the lyric. :)

There are some outstanding lyrics out there and it's a shame when people concentrate only on the beat/sound of the music and not the story/message that accompanies it.
