I was fortunate enough to see a couple of Turners at the National Gallery in London. Goes without saying that they are quite an amazing sight. Never heard of Palmer before but I like Friedrich as well - so dramatic!

Yes, like El Greco, I think Turner is an artist who was way ahead of his time. He was an impressionist before impressionism. Palmer is new to me, but I like the bold colors and almost illuminating quality that makes his paintings seem almost alive. And of course, Friedrich is a great romantic master whose vision and imagery is as powerful today as it was a hundred years ago.

I went to the National Gallery in London back in 1991 and my friend and I viewed five museums that day. Total sensory overload. Hopefully, I will return one day and spend a little more time appreciating the great art that is there. :)
