Thank you! I think the story is pelting to its finish now, thanks to encouraging friends and reviews! :)
I'm a bit concerned that the end won't be as totally happy as everyone (including some characters) might want. :( I might put in a notice to say so, at the beginning of the next (second-last, I hope!) chapter.

I would actually, quite seriously, *love* to see a book on Calormene maxims--so if you do that? Keep in mind you have a potential reader!

How do you decide whether to post something on AO3 or Fanfiction.net? I have a good friend who posts exclusively on AO3. . . I was wondering whether it was worth getting an invite if all I ever intend to do is post comments on other people's stuff--probably not, huh, since I can sign in as a guest….

Pretty much only the big mainline Narnia stories are on ffnet; Narnian oddments and some not-usual-for-me things - like my crabby anti-Moffat Who stories - I've tended to put on AO3, and I've been copying over the big story chapter by chapter as I go.

I'd love to see the maxims - or a map. I was actually thinking this morning that it would be great if "The Ivory Merchants" had a map with it, drawn in the Narnian manner.

:) The maxims idea was because of that reference in the last chapter to the book written by Garaht Tarkaan to advise his sons! :D

But yes, maybe I should do a real map, in the Narnian manner!
