While browsing through a gallery of historical figurines, I came across this marvelous figure of a Minoan prince labeled as Minos of Crete. The basis for the recreation is, of course, the famous (and historically inaccurate) Priest-King of the Lilies fresco at Knossos.

Wow - he's great!
I saw an article, but I can't remember where now, where the author (a BNA - not a quack) suggested that perhaps the reconstruction isn't so wrong. I wish that I paid better attention, but my mind has been all about griffins so I didn't really mentally archive it. If I see it again, I'll send you the reference.
