BBC travel indicates the M74 is closed J6 - J3 both directions because of an accident. There are getarounds, too lengthy to describe but follow the diversion signs and you'll be fine. Think of it as a chance to see more of Scotland ;-)

It was still closed early afternoon, we came off early and went on the A70 instead.
