Question 1, for instance. What if you haven't seen your favourite band but don't wish to? Or have seen it but wouldn't necessarily say 'of course' because you don't think it's such a given.
Really you should have phrased it thus:
Have you seen your favourite band in concert?
1. Yes. 2. No. 3. Don't have a favourite band.
Ideally, with room for further comments/qualifications e.g. yes, but i forgot my glasses, so i only saw them in a certain sense.
i thought about the "i don't have a favorite band" option. the idea of not wanting to see your favorite band didn't occur to me though. huh.
you bring up an interesting idea, though. it'd be fun to do a poll with answer options as specific as possible, covering everything someone might want to respond. "i've seen the band that was my favorite in high school, and in university, but not my current favorite band." "i've seen the band that was my favorite in high school, and my current favorite, but not my favorite from university" etc..
Helen, you know I love and read everything you write. That's just the way it's got to be. It's okay. I know you just wanted to make a poll because you can
( ... )
who's your favorite artist that you've seen him TWICE?
i think it's really funny that mostly english-y majors said they don't get to freeread much, if at all. when i was still in school, it was like that for me too, though. i'd be lucky if i freeread one book per school year, but i'd try to cram in a few over summer break. now that i've graduated, i'm happy to say i've been reading a fair amount again:) it's so cool to see my stack of books-to-read actually getting smaller.
Favourite artist? By far and above the one and only man of wonder, Bryan Adams. He gives the best concerts. They're so much fun! There's so much energy. It's incredible.
Yeah. I've been noticing that the whole English Major thing has actually decreased my desire to read. I look at a book and groan now. It's a shame. I'm looking forward to when reading is finally fun again.
what did you think freeread meant? i figured you didn't know what i meant when you said you don't freeread, what since you mailed me one of your favorite books. i had no idea this was a term that would trip up so many people...
