This article about eyeballs popping out is the stuff of nightmares. I had to stop reading when it started discussing the various ways one's eyeball might pop out from normal daily activity like sneezing, or sitting around thinking "Oh my god, your freakin' EYEBALL CAN POP OUT?"

This plot supposes that on planets in the Pegasus Galaxy, especially technologically advanced planets with large permanent armies which suffer major losses every fifty years--specifically, Sateda, keeping the population up would be a major, ongoing problem, and government infrastructure and social mores would encourage women to have as many babies as possible.This totally ties into the essay that I am not writing about how the Pegasus Galaxy MUST be obsessed with sex because of population loss and also talent loss. New population and good genes must be the most valuable commodity there is ( ... )

wow. That is definitely NOT too long a comment, say I. Because there are nipples, and bruises, and Ronon worrying about people stealing Atlantis-babies.

I guess Ronon has a keen business sense, so it's not so much that the Atlantis gene pool shouldn't be spread around as that they shouldn't GIVE it away. Also, there should be a staff meeting where Ronon suggests that their food-trade trouble would be over once they get the sperm bank going [two rounds of Sheppard-semen would go for 100 bushels of grain.]

In other news, when people do indeed HAVE babies, Ronon should work in the creche. He could totally LOVE BABIES, and never really have gotten to play with any.

Oh god, poor Ronon. He turns his back for TWO SECONDS and McKay and Sheppard are letting themselves be chatted up by local girls (HARLOTS AND DNA-THIEVES!) and looking happy about it, and it's just so stressful because people from Atlantis are total sluts, and Sheppard isn't safe, and Rodney has such pretty blue eyes, and Ronon probably starts losing sleep over the possibility of one of them getting kidnapped.

This seriously kicks ass! You are not violating the rules of netiquette in any way! I must hear more about Ronon's eugenics-yenta adventures, and I can pretty much predict that people will friend your LJ, just in case you keep talking about safety-mandated circle-jerks, baby-trading, and Essence o' Shep, which, HAH! People hate to miss that stuff.

One more LJ/netiquette question (rudely, AFTER I did the thing I am asking about).

I was thinking that I might gather up these comment pieces and put them together on my LJ (which seems like it would be ok) - but that they wouldn't make sense without reference to your initial post. So I did a post on my LJ that refers people back here to yours, but then I also did some writing and took the bits of your ideas that got me going, and kind of adapted and expanded on them.

- Like that if Rodney ever said anything to Ronon that seemed gay and Ronon has to put his hand over Rodney's mouth to make him be quiet, Ronon hopes that he can catch Rodney with his mouth closed, because otherwise Rodney might touch his tongue to Ronon's hand. And that would be wrong.

Please don't hesitate to tell me if it bugs you. I really enjoy your writing and I would hate to offend
