i never asked to be nobody's nothing
spoilers for all of season 6; my way of making sense of mark and lexie's breakup, plus lexie and alex's reoccurring "meetings". It turned into something much different than I expected, but I'm rather pleased with it. Raw and un-beta'd. rated r for adult situations. lexie/mark; lexie/alex.

I soooo want to hate the Lexie/Alex aspect of this but I can't. It really fits in with how the show is going right now and I can't hate how in character you're being with this fic.

Meredith's "non-lecture" lecture; Mark's childish actions in the cafeteria and his remark in the elevator; Alex's tendency to get attached to someone that doesn't really want him (Izzie/Denny) are all in character so bravo!

Great job! I really enjoyed this!

I understand your pain! I want to hate Lexie/Alex sooo much too. This was meant to be a fic to explain why she keeps turning to Alex on simply a physical level...but it turned into something more and as much as I HATE that, it does seem to be where the show's heading. I've mixed feelings about it, but I adore Lexie, so we'll have to see what happens. (I'm thinking she and Mark will reunite, just not any time soon.)

I love that you wrote a fic that was true and not just what you wanted for the characters.

I hate how the show has completely destroyed a perfectly great couple for the sake of ~drama~
...and Lexie needs to go back to brown ASAP.

I read the other comment about wanting to hate on Alex/Lexie... well, I for one, love them to bits. And I think this is a great exploration of their arrangement!

Thank you! I do love Alex and Lexie. I really do! But I WANT to hate them, because I adore Lexie and Mark.
But there's something about the two of them together...they're really growing on me.

That was great. You cant blame lexie mark is pushing her away, and I kinda love Lexie and Alex.

I know, I agree. I seriously LOVE Lexie/Mark, but I'm really digging this Lexie/Alex dynamic. I think the only thing holding me back from saying, forget Mark and get with Alex, is the whole unresolved Izzy dynamic to the story.

REALLY GOOD, i'M NOT A FAN OF LEX/aLEX, but you are truly in character and that's awesome!
I just hope Mark and Lexie get togethr again before this happens in "reality" before this relatinoship becomes more than sex...

Lexie/Alex is growing on me...but I still want Lexie back with Mark. I miss them!
I'm afraid of this coming true as well...I don't think they'd seriously pursue Lexie/Alex again, but you never know with this show....

Thanks for sharing this great story. I especially love your scene of Meredith/Lexie interaction, which I will from now on include in my own personal canon :-)

nicely captures the state of the Mark/Lexie relationship. Which will require some serious work at getting to know each other better.

(I'm sorry but I still cannot see Lexie just forgetting that Alex forgot her. Oh well, nevermind that I still have not been able to watch the 6x14 Alex/Lexie hookup yet, as I'm located in Europe. I kind of understand why nobody uploaded it yet.)

Thank you! I love Meredith/Lexie interactions, though they're quite rare. I love how protective Meredith gets over Lexie without really realizing it...
Yeah, for some reason the latest hookup is what got me thinking they might keep Lexie and Alex together for some time. I hope it's just physical, but I'm afraid it might not be. I think Mark has a lot to apologize for and I think he's too proud to do so. Lexie certainly messed up, but she's admitted that much. Mark's not being fair and I think the more he pushes Lexie away, the closer Lexie gets to Alex, and that's what scares me!
As for Lexie not getting over what happened with Alex before, I don't really see this as an issue. They were barely dating (I'm not even sure they were ever officially dating) but I see your point.
It'll sure be interesting to see what happens...
