Man, Edward is a dick. I mean, I knew that, but... I've just reached the part where Bella tells Edward that she was going to try to defend herself from the muggers, and Edward gets angry at her for it. There have been other moments where I wanted to smack him, but now I want to kick him in the balls too ( Read more... )

I know he's a hundred years old and all, and thus bound to have a few... differences of opinion with modern feminism, but that excuse wil only cover him so far.

I admit, my first thought was, "OH NO YOU DIDN'T."

But then again, whenever I comment on Twilight it's only from what I know via hearsay on the intertube (and the movies). So, at least, you'll know for yourself. Whatever that will be, that you'll know. ;)

Well, I like to form my own opinions.

Honestly, a lot of it's true, but a lot of it seems to be just hearsay too, or at least taken out of context. Yes, there's melodrama, and Narm, and some... original ideas about vampires combined with some that are not as original as she thinks they are, and yes I want to beat Edward round the head with a baseball bat and Bella with a clue bat, but I still find myself enjoying it. Most of the time. That may change as time goes on and things become more and more twisted with less and less acknowledgement, however.
