Being unable to care for one's self in Victorian times was seen as very dishonorable to a family, especially in America, the land of independence. And likewise, I appreciate your effort to help! I think I'm close to finding some information. It looks like the poorhouse closest to me has since been converted into apartments.

As for cemeteries, most were consolidated with existing community cemeteries, but I was able to find one pauper cemetery that is beginning to be overgrown:

Wow, very cool! Not too common to find those around. If ours is still there, I'm pretty sure they've done away with the stones. (Went looking for it a while ago and couldn't find it.. maybe I'll go back when there's snow, it might be easier to spot.)
