The rich and the poor

These two locations were established by the earlier settlers of the area, who relocated to northern Michigan after the Civil War. One man was poor farmer, the other a wealthy lumberman. They would later become influential in shaping the towns near them after being elected for public office, but both of them would eventually see their legacies lost ( Read more... )

Mmm... yummm... What a thought-provoking sequence you are treating us with again...

The further it goes, the more convinced I get: your UPP is not to show what others have created, but to create by yourself and on your own. I'm amazed, to tell the truth.

Barn roofs as pictured are a weakness of mine. How do you call them?

amazing photos. the cemetary is strange. a family only thing ? the head stones are so plain. is this typical in rural america ?
do you know what year the buildings would have been abandoned ?

I'm guessing the grave stones are so uniform because there was only one variety available.

Both residences appear to have been abandoned in the late 1960s/early 70s.
