My hedgie recognizes my scent and will lick my finger sometimes...he also burrows next to me...or into me and my clothes...
Other than that, not much loving going on. But for me it's enough. ♥

snuffly squeaky chattering and burrowing is a sign of a happy hog - but I'm not sure 'affection' as such is easy to read. But it is possible to tell a hog that is at ease, trusting and comfortable - which may be the best we can hope to be sure of.
