a good beginning. i am not advocating single-payer ALONE, but single payer Medicare as BASIS - and then any number of competitively marketed private insurances on top.

but we need any universal plan - to reduce waste and overuse, mostly.

there will be two medicines - "basic" and "better". unfair? yes, unfair, but so is life.
