Just thinking of all of you over there.

And, in case you don't know where to find it, here's the USGS map of earthquakes in the central US in case you want to fill out the "Did you feel it" map and such.

The link is down, overloaded maybe.

Reports so far here (DC/Balt) aren't too bad. Sounds like mostly minor damage, and they've taken two nuclear reactors in VA offline just in case.

I think it was overloaded. Because I'm now a well-trained west coaster, I looked for the page with the report first, and it came up.

Just after I'd posted the link, I couldn't get through. Apparently, other people got the same idea.

It's back up now.

Glad you're okay.

Thanks for the link (and voice of experience), I had no idea you could fill out a "did you feel it" thing. Cool.

I'm one of those weirdos who fills it out for every quake I feel. I blame my rapt interest in all things geological for this impulse.

When I feel ground shaking, the first thing I do it wait. Sometimes it's wind or a truck going by. As it keeps going, I assess whether I need to get under any heavy furniture if there's some nearby (usually there isn't any nearby, so I just hope it's not bad.)

When the shaking stops, I go to the recent earthquakes page and hit refresh until the quake shows up and then I fill out the "Did you feel it?" bit if it was bigger than the shaking that happens when my cat jumps on the bed.
