Command-T on a mac, or F4 on a PC.
This changes a reference from relative to absolute or vice-versa. Repeating the command will cycle through all potential variants of partial and full references. Don’t know how people live without this one.
That's from a comment on a Feb 2007 techjive.net article. There appears to be further relevant discussion in the thread. Confirmation of this (and maybe additional info?) is in the comments on this lifehacker.com thread Oh, and I'm sure you know this, but since most Apple keyboards don't say it, the "Command" key is the little apple/cloverleaf key.

Huh. Perhaps I mistyped absolute. Given my current state of mind (and finger temp) it's entirely possible. Or maybe I added extra words that threw it off. At any rate, that's a very deeply appreciated tip.
