straight lines and circles

Well, after following the show for five seasons I should probably react to the end of "Person of Interest"! I did like the finale - "like" is a tepid word and it's not that I feel tepid about the ending, since some of it was very moving and makes me think, and there were the appropriate explosions, but it didn't whelm me overly. Good end to the ( Read more... )

*sniffles* All of this, yes. I was a bit annoyed by the Grace ending because that relationship has always been so thinly written, but I do love that Harold accepts John's sacrifice in the spirit in which it was given, that he chooses to live. And John's little smile on the rooftop (always a rooftop)! Shaw the straight arrow! What a ride it has been, and I'm glad they got to wrap it up more or less as they wanted, even if corners had to be cut.

Now who's going to make all the vids about the beautiful visual connections?

Always a rooftop! Yes! Though they are a big part of NYC (and probably easier to shoot TV on than the streets). But it could certainly mean something.

And yes, I can accept Harold looking for and finding happiness better if I think of it as the outcome and intent of John's sacrifice - it was harder to do so in the moment because Harold was apparently dying, though not very efficiently. But it has to be a positive act - it's not like he tripped and flew to Italy and happened across Grace accidentally.

Thanks for the review!
I've been trying to decide whether or not to watch the last season. It helps to know there's at least a somewhat--if not satisfying, at least acceptable--ending

The season as a whole was a bit chaotic, but I did find the ending satisfying - especially in the context of loving the characters and wanting to see the best conclusion to their stories. Or as good as they could get, I mean. :)
