They're playing at a much higher level than Ben's team -- it's their first year of kid-pitch here, and half the kids can't field worth a damn. (Or hit the ball, but I think that has more to do with the pitching than the swings.)
Ben pitched for the second time the other night, and gave up four walks in a row, and burst into tears on the mound. Stephen had to hold me back from marching out there to hug him. But his coaches were very encouraging and supportive, which was good to see. After all the years doing baseball with Jake, we've seen some coaches who would have thrown him off the mound and been done with it.
Love your recaps. Half the time I miss most of Ben's games due to Sara-chasing.
