Just got back from seeing HBP. Ugh, remind me to NEVER go see a movie with my aunt and Adrian again. Jesus. That was possibly the most miserable i've been in a movie theater ever.
Harry on Felix Felicis. He was adorkable! Gesturing about the spider's pinchers. I loved it. XD
Loved all the things you loved, actually. Very impressed (and relieved) with Tom Felton! Draco was perfect.
I would've liked to see more Tonks, but I didn't mind Luna finding Harry on the train... it just seemed to fit better within the movie, a quicker explanation of why she'd be there. I am biased from adoring Luna, though. *g*
He was! Dan is not my favorite of the actors, but he sooo pulled that scene off. :D
Yeah, it does make sense in context, since they left out everything about Harry being under guard. And I adore Luna as well...Evanna does such a good job with the character!
I always enjoy the HP movies. So much goodness I didn't miss the funeral, as I think the understated ending communicated the grief perfectly, with the wands in the air. I also thought that this was definitely the more cliff-hangery ending the way it was. I totally agree that there should have been some depiction of the battle, instead of just the killing of Dumbledore followed by the escape of the Death Eaters.
You are completely right about TF. He did a superb job. All the young cast have grown up so perfectly into their parts. Even Bonnie Wright as Ginny, who was probably just hired for the first film because she was a red-headed ten year old. (I don't think at the time the first film was made they even knew that Ginny would end up as Harry's love interest.)
I really wanted MORE of the Harry/Ginny kiss. And more development of Ron/Hermione too. :D
And whhhaaaaaaaaaaaa to the burning Burrow. They better magically fix that before the end. :o
Oh I agree...the grief in that scene was handled SO WELL. I'm just a ridiculous shipper. XD
Yes on Bonnie! I adored her already, but I think she did a great job this time. And the kiss, yeah...should have been more. I mean, it was full on WHOA in the books, and so understated in the movie. Sweet, but not what I expected.
The Burrow burning is totally the most wtf thing in the movie to me...the yleft out such a crucial battle at the school to add that in? When it's stated countless times in the books how protected it is? That, to me, makes the attack at the wedding in DH lose some of its horror.
Cutting the battle at the school. I just...that always felt like such an important part of the book to me. Even with Dumbledore's death, it loses some of the WE'RE REALLY AT WAR feel without it. This is my biggest complaint with the movie. You don't really get the feeling that things are REALLY DIFFERENT at school. The whole movie was like that, and the bull at the beginning about Molly wanting to pull the kids out of school just didn't cut it. The kids should have been kind of scared and frazzled the whole movie.
Also, Ron did not ask if anyone they knew had died. Not even once! *pouts*
Gah, yes. I'd honestly forgotten about the change in Molly (probably because I was so annoyed by it). Yeah, the book had it's funny moments and all, but the underlying danger of what was going on was so prominent. The movie just didn't seem to have that at all.
*pouts with you* I loved Ron doing that in the book!
I didn't think about it, but that's a good point. Why couldn't Tonks have found Harry? what was the point of that change? The only thing I can guess is that they really didn't show Harry being guarded that much so maybe that's it? IDK.
Yeah, they did leave out him being under guard, so that's probably a big part of it. It just seemed out of place, especially considering that part partially set up the whole Remus/Tonks thing. Instead we get that relationship thrown in as an afterthought with the whole "sweetheart" thing. Sigh.
