Congrats on the green thumb! :) I tried to grow brussels sprouts this year. Dismal failure. Although we did get one stalk of broccoli. Randomly.

Is the In Death series good, then? I've been hearing about it for years, but I've never read them. I love romance novels, but have never liked Nora Roberts's books, maybe that's why I've been putting it off. And there's so many of them, the library is bound to have hardly any and I would be forced to go to great and expensive lengths to track them down if I got hooked. :) There hasn't been any bad ending yet, has there? I'm also wary about long-running book series where the author suddenly decides to kill off one half of the couple.

Heh, I wouldn't call it a green thumb...more just dumb luck most of them time.

I really really love the series, and I was sure I wouldn't. I got bored with her traditional romances several years ago, but honestly these books feel like a completely different author. No bad endings yet, either! (Granted, i'm only just now on book 5.)
