I'll tell you what: I'll retract anything I've said that you say is wrong if you will clearly: -condemn the Chinese communist massacre at Tiananmen Square -condemn, unconditionally, terrorism (defined as a campaign of violence against civilians to effect political change) -condemn the use of mentally-challenged children as human bombs
Re: stop making shit upcapt_oblivionApril 26 2006, 18:13:37 UTC
I never supported any of these things to begin with. I think the massacre at tiananmen square was a gross and unjustified, act of violence. This follows from the fact that China doesn't have a right to exist.
Terrorism is far too broad to issue any blanket statement about.
I think blowing people up is bad.
So in issuing these condemnations, what exactly am I doing? What's the point? I think playing the rhetorical games of support and condemnation played by governments is totally pointless.

"Terrorism is far too broad to issue any blanket statement about"
Gee, I wonder why I ever thought that you might support terrorism? You won't condemn terrorism, even defined as "a campaign of violence against civilians to effect political change" meaning that you won't condemn killing civilians. This must mean that in some circumstances, you support killing civilians! Right?
"I think blowing people up is bad" is not a condemnation of the use of mentally-challenged children as human bombs.
What's the point?
You were upset that I mischaracterized your positions; I simply gave you an opportunity to clarify them, but even now you refuse to do so.
