Twilight would have been a lot less painful if I were drunk. Sooo... ( Twilight drinking game! I hope for your liver's sake it's something <10 proof. )

The gender dynamics are "worse" in the books, IMO. I actually think the movie is better than the books, but then it's hard for me to interpret it out of context.

That doesn't surprise me, based on what else I've read. I think the movie is better than the books because of the unintentional hilarity.

Have you read that essay that basically lays out all the reasons Edward is an abusive, controlling creep?

I had a friend who told me I couldn't mock her for reading Twilight until I tried to read it myself.

I read ten pages and then I threw it at her. She got the point.
