This is one of the great questions in history. It probably has something to do with familiarity, or something.

It's not always like that. I hook up with somebody somewhat frequently, and we're "just friends," though there is little chance of us ever becoming a relationship at this point of our lives.

Nice guys finish last. Same happened to me. Sometimes you have to wait until they get tired of dating assholes and let them see the good person you are. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but ultimately you have to take a chance on it and keep trying until you find someone who says yes.
