There are cogs in my brain, and they are whirring.

Under the cut, because it's always scary when I have thoughts, and it's very, very long and rambling and also there are Journey's End spoilers:

First, I don't actually have huge problems with how the Doctor/Rose story was left in Journey's End. Much as I love the Doctor and Rose together, they are two separate characters who I love very much as ( Read more... )

doctor who, doctor/rose, rose tyler, rambling, theory

Yes. Yes. I do actually agree with you. It's popped into my head - because although I loved Journey's End, certain aspects of it (such as Jack and Rose not really talking or whatever) feel a little jarring, like there's something else going to happen, and you wait and wait and wait and nothing happens.

And, I've read a fic like this and it was lovely.

It does seem like a little lovely ending to their story, but I'm not sure if it would be possible - as by then, many of the viewers may have never seen Rose before, if it's at the end of Doctor Who itself.

But there's a little hope, that for once, our Doctor [the one we see on screen] will stop being emo and be happy again. Because I loved series 2. I loved series 4. Didn't like series 3 that much. In series 2, everything was happy, and good, until Doomsday. Series 3...the Doctor was so emo and suicidal until Jack showed up, really. Series 4, he had Donna to help him, but he wasn't as happy as series 2.

Wow. That's the longest comment I've ever posted. xD

I think it would be quite bittersweet again, because Rose will have gone through the loneliness the Doctor did. But she'll come out of it understanding him better.

I appreciate that there was a lot to cram in there, even with the extra twenty minutes, but I'd have thought a little bit of Jack/Rose exchange, especially given how much Rose affected Jack's life, would have figured, somewhere, if not quite highly, on the list of Fairly Important Things to Fit In. I may write a fic in which they all had tea in the TARDIS and discussed this.

I've always wondered too how Rose wasn't changed in some way by the vortex. Like you said both Jack and the Doctor were changed in some way, why not Rose?

My hopes if the show is ever called to a halt is that Jenny returns and travels with the Doctor. At least he'd have someone who's like him, and he'd have a bit of "family" again.

Well, apparently it was Moffat who suggested Jenny be brought back to life at the end, which suggests he plans to bring her back. I'd like her for the next companion, really. I think that's what he needs right now, especially given the fact that she was one of the people the Doctor believes died for him, and how distraught he was to lose her.

Here's hoping. Because I'd really love to Ten get to be a father, I think that would be an interesting storyline.

Thanks!

I'd like to think that the Doctor will eventually have his happy ending, or at least the hope of a happy ending.

I've thought about Bad Wolf!Rose doing something for the Doctor so he could be happy. She was a combination of both the TARDIS and herself and both of them (I'm making assumptions for the TARDIS) love him. Why wouldn't they want him happy? *Him* him not the human Doctor.

I'd love for BP to come back but right now I'd just take a regenerated Rose. Before JE I hated the idea of Rose becoming a Time Lord. Now, though, I'd take it over the "Let's see if we can crush the Doctor's will to live" theme the writers are shoving down our throats.

They're really going overboard with the angst. But it is first and foremost a family show, and ending everything so bleakly just doesn't fit with that. I want him to have a happy ending. More than anything, I'd love for it to be with Rose, but any happy ending, so long as it was with a character I liked, would do right now. I think Rose would think the same way, and I agree with you - if, while she had all that power, she didn't make it so that she would be the one to ultimately make him happy, she would arrange for someone else to. Whatever happens, I don't think Rose's part in this is necessarily over yet.

It does seem like a strong possibility, and it would be a good way for Rose to be brought back in the future.

Personally, I have a slight theory (which could also be a hope) that once Ten's regenerated there will be an episode or two with Eleven, Rose & human!Ten. Because, seriously, Tennant is unlikely to turn down the chance to return for a couple of episodes after he's left, and it would be quite interesting. And I'd really like it. So...yeah.

Ooh, this would be so great! I'd absolutely love it if they made that long-rumoured movie but with Rose and human!Ten and their clan of Time Tots in the parallel universe.
