11 Days of Con

May 24, 2017 12:15

So, Ive just returned home from the most manic 11 con days of my life. Between Friday 12th and Monday 22nd May, I attended three conventions in two different countries: Asylum 18 in Blackpool, England, JIBLand2 in Rome and JIB8 in Rome… and now I’m exhausted :P.

It really has been a riot, hasn't it.. Like you, I'm exhausted, but I'm also so happy that I got to have this experience once again.
You've got a fantastic set of pictures here - including the ones you took, and your Jensen auto story is awesome, that'd definitely a moment to remember!

Thanks :)... the Jensen auto was the highlight for me (made all the waiting and delays worth it) :).

I'm still exhausted though - just spent the last few days milling around the house. I got con flu for the first time this year too - been sniffling, sneezing and coughing all week!

Thank you :). Glad you enjoyed reading it. As much fun as Antarctica was, I put on about 1/2 a stone while I was there (they feed us about every 2 hours down there!), and I was already about 1/2 a stone heavier than I was a couple of years ago, so I need to get to the gym now and lose it again :P.

Well I think you looked lovely, hun, we're all carrying a little more weight than we'd like but it doesn't notice on you, honest.

Wow, you had an actual conversation with Jensen! I'm not surprised he was impressed by both your travel and your job, I found it fascinating when I spoke to you about it. What a shame you didn't have longer to talk - but your photo op is wonderful!

I love Grimm and your photo with David and Sasha is wonderful, you look very happy! And you don't look like you've put weight on to me - if you have it suits you!

I love the photos you took, too. Thanks so much for sharing :)

Thanks :). Yeah, it's been a big thing over the last few months to get the confidence to speak to Jensen for more than a couple of seconds. I just about managed it at MinnCon last year (when he signed the photo I took of him, which he used on Twitter), but this year felt natural, like just two people having a conversation, rather than a fan-celeb interaction :).

I hadn't even seen Grimm until late-February, so it was a very rushed viewing - I'd seen all 6 seasons by the end of March! David and Sasha are lovely and so much fun. Thanks btw - I put on about 1/2 stone in Antarctica, which I'm not happy about so I'm trying to lose it again :P. Glad it doesn't seem to show though. Unfortunately, the photographer wasn't that good either, and a lot of the photos this year seem to make people look bigger than they are (bad angles/lighting).

This is so cool. Thanks for sharing. I love the fact that you sat and had actual conversation with Sasha David and Tom. I loved Grimm and was sad that it ended. It would be cool to meet them. I always wish they would have had some kind of convention in Portland while they were filming. I would have been there in a second, but they never did anything, sadly. JIB is always a great Con. I wish we could have something like that here in the States. Our Cons are nice, but to actually have a chance to see J2 more than once would be nice. I'm glad you had a great time. You've definitely come out of your shell, and that is so nice to see.

Thanks :). I'm not quite sure if it's a good or a bad thing that I don't really get nervous around the guests anymore - on the one hand it makes it easier to talk to them, but on the other, it's kind of like the 'specialness' of meeting them is gone ( ... )
