Oh that's very nice! You showed well the atmosphere of All Saint Days - I find it dark and sad cause it's also the Day to honor your deads .
You express with lots of delicacy the... hurt? the new schism was. Christians were totally despaired to be divided once again and all wanted to be reunited. Except now, The catholic states are just missing the protestant ones (and not trying to suppress them, or to convert them).
Religion wars were an awful period (but so interesting to study!)

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it!
Since not many nations die, I figured that there had to be another reason for their solemnity on the occasion; missing their comrades seemed like the best bet to that end.
Absolutely fascinating to study. ;)

I was more thinking of the atmosphere in general. It's not an happy one, and you described it well (and nations can mourn their people after all ^^...)

Yeah, I have a class about that period, and it's one of my favourite (also because it kinda destroyed some clichés I could have)

I love 16th century European history, with the Renaissance and the Reformation all happening, it was a time of great change, the repercussions of which are still felt even now.
I like the melancholy mood of this piece and how each of the nations are dealing with their grief (because it is like a bereavement) in very different ways.
Lovely ♥

Oh wow. You did it again!

I'm reading...reading...reading...then I get to this:

"The Catholic nations of Europe..."

...and a bit of understanding dawns. Then this:

"...it’s Reformation Day, too.'"

...and I get all wibbly 'cause now I know what the title referred to. Mom lit a a candle for both my grandparents on Sunday. We were raised Catholic. *wipes tear* This was good.

How beautiful... I can't get over how delicate and pretty your style is. The way that they are all so sombre and obviously yearning for the others... ;w;

And I have been reading all your fics, I just haven't commented on them all ;; Keep writing! ♥
