We're going to miss our Sabine.

Sabine was just too sick. Tom and I spent a long time talking with the vet, and we made the decision that she was ready to go.  She was the sweetest cat, and we will miss her greatly. She allowed the children to practice petting "gently". She read my moods, and always snuggled up against me for naps

I know this must have been an incredibly hard decision for you.

I'd recommend picking up a copy of Cynthia Rylant's Cat Heaven. I was given a copy of Dog Heaven after my first greyhound had to be put down, and it's been a world of comfort for me every time I've dealt with losing a pet since. The books are simply written with great illustrations.
