Today's traffic is epically bad. A bad storm front rolled through Atlanta before dawn, and we lost power. The sound of various UPSs beeping woke us up, so Tom went ahead and showered. He left the house at 7:30. All of the alternate routes he could take to work were blocked by downed trees or power lines. 2 hours later, he's still trying to get to ( Read more... )

i promise this is not my fault, love, robyn mckenna.

the only thing i did was try to book flights from PNS (pensacola) to Ft. L which demands an atlanta stop, and i did 'think' about a return to hotlanta to buy a dress or skirt and 'panama shorts' but we probably do not have the time.

WE will be in Atlanta on May 3 (saturday) flying from san diego to atlanta with connection to our home airport. BEWARE!

it will be rob and robyn mckenna, so you have been warned!

sorry his commute sucks. i woke toad up early so he could drink coffee adn be awake to drive through the bottom of this storm.

we only lost branches so far. but the wind is whipping right now.

that pork would go great with the 'tossed salad tunnel' in mobile. the day the wallace tunnel opened a huge truck of lettuce flipped over inside. :)

dreamland bbq. *grin* that was my second thought after reading frozen pork. third thought was my dad's family getting watermelons when he was a teenager from a tipped over truck, and once chickens.

Yipes.
My and TiTo's commutes were relatively easy, thankfully. I'd be clawing the upholstery with a 2.5hr commute.

2.5 hours is obscene. If it was a regular thing, we'd be moving. It was just one of those cursed mornings.

Does Tom carry a laptop with wireless? Maybe he can set up shop in Caribou Coffee or Starbucks, and get some work done while the county clears the roads.

BTW, I just received an email from Cobb County. There are still 17 traffic signals not working, and 50ish trees still blocking various roads.

Ooh, good suggestion! He could have ordered a hot chocolate or something!

Several schools were closed because the roads in front of them were impassable!

Terry came in this morning, asking if his school would close because of the storm. Unfortunately for him, no trees fell in the road. :-)

Did Tom eventually make it to work? Will he be leaving extra late? If so, he needs to know that the forecasters are predicting icy roads tonight.

On a side note, I passed a trampoline lying on the side of the road. The wind clearly picked it up from some poor soul's backyard and deposited it in a crumpled heap. Kinda amusing, if you have a dark sense of humor.

He made it in at 10 AM. He left at 7:30. 2.5 hours!!! He finally made it in by going up 92 to 575 to 75South. It took him for-e-ver.

Tomorrow, he may just want to walk in.

Ooooh - I wonder if it bounced much as it landed.

This strikes me as one of those days where you call the boss and say, "Yeah, looks like I'm going to be working from home today. See ya tomorrow!"

After all, he's part of that traffic jam now, not just stuck in it...

He should have! However, I think he feels bad that he has been sick 4 days in February. He is determined to be a good company slave. :)
