Yesterday I was catching up on el jay and I came across an entry by capricornia talking about how her exercise routine has made her feel so much stronger. Stronger. Not thinner or sleeker or even a vague "better," but stronger. I thought about some of my constant complaints lately ( Read more... )

AWESOME. I love swimming too - different backstory, but I agree with all your points. I swam 1x/week when I was pregnant and it was great. Major downside to me is how you feel like a piece of chlorine the rest of the day. I'm hoping next semester I'll be able to go back though - free swim is at terrible times at my local park district and it is impossible with my current class schedule.

I'm still kicking myself for not swimming while I was pregnant. I was just so tired and couldn't summon the motivation.

That is wonderful! It's so great you have access to that pool. You're right it's mindfulness at its core - I think you've found your "me" time. :)

The advantages of the burbs over the city are few, but room for and access to pools are one of them.
