My life as a part-time SAHM (only read if you are having trouble sleeping)

I wanted to keep track of what my days with baby V are like before I go back to work full time. Right now we have Tuesdays and Thursdays together at home, and I don't know if it will ever be this way again. This morning she woke up after sleeping a good six and a half hours straight- from 11:30pm to 6am. Carey heard her first and got up and changed ( Read more... )

I felt the same way when atwistedstring was pregnant while I was trying to conceive and then had her son while I was expecting!

Also fascinating for those of us who are child-free. A peak into a different world. :-) Glad to hear you're enjoying it, wet diapers and all! She's just a darling, and if she starts a tax service, let me know.

I'm sure the doctor is right - she looks super smart in the photos I've seen on facebook :)

People were constantly pointing out how alert and "with it" Sam was when he was smaller, and I was always like, "Buh? Is this not normal?" But then I met a few more babies, and it turns out that for some, it just takes them a really long time to start to engage with their surroundings, so...yes, I DO think a baby can be "intelligent" (although I wouldn't use that word), relatively speaking.

V is growing so quickly! Every new picture is a revelation. :) And I think it's good you're documenting this time with her -- I don't remember the early days with Sam much at all, apart from what I can hazily cobble together from the photos/vids and short journal entries I wrote. It sounds like she's sleeping really well, which is a mitzvah!

She is growing so fast, and it's so bizarre to me that my milk is doing all that! She's a good sleeper- not much during the day, but nice stretches at night (excellent for my sleep but hard in terms of engorgement). Yeah, I remember Sam being very alert and engaged when he was V's age.

Hahahaha. Thanks for saying so. Sometimes I feel like I get NOTHING done, but if the baby is dry, fed, and still alive, it means I've been quite busy.
