Food Reset, day 9

Last night Carey and I went to Meijer for the first time to do some grocery shopping. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices and selection. Part of food reset is that I have to grocery shop more frequently to keep my fresh produce stocked, and we picked up lots of fruits and veggies to keep things interesting. I got fish and eggs back yesterday, ( Read more... )

Thanks for your comment with the psychology links - I need to go back and read it when I'm not practically falling asleep.
My dad gave me some corn on the cob yesterday and I didn't want to make regular old corn with butter so I googled 'raw corn salad' and found this super yummy salad that I made last night. Thought you might like it as well. I didn't actually have cilantro so I added a bit of chili oil instead. So I guess I didn't really follow the recipe at all, but I think the idea of corn and zucchini salad is a really good one :) Thought you might like it!

That looks awesome. I just read that shredded zucchini is a great substitute for pasta in recipes, so I'm going to go buy a wagon of it.

That fish sounds DELICIOUS. We definitely do not cook at home enough, and we especially do not eat enough protein. Lately we've been going to a little non-corporate market and there's fish all over the place! I need to find some good recipes.

Who is the Dead Weather, Heather?
Do they sound well together, and wear lots of leather??
Or maybe they're just a band that will be together forever.

Yes- I'm a stranger. I've participated AND written you a poem. I follow directions well! Haha. I was searching for people with any similar interests to mine and we seem to have some, so I thought I'd say hello!

Hahahahahaha....I forgot about that poem thing. You are a good sport. Thanks for checking my olde journale out. I don't normally talk about food incessantly, but I'm on a bit of a replacement diet, and writing about it keeps me accountable and helps me remember good recipes. You live in California, right? You must have amazing access to fresh seafood. Jealous.

Haha, it was fun! Plus, you gave me the rhyming words so it was easy. Didn't even need my rhyming dictionary! I'm okay with you talking about food incessantly... it just makes me want to eat. I am in California, and I live in a beach city so we do have some good stuff. We eat a lot of sushi. I'm a terrible cook so I could only imagine what I would do to a poor fish. However, my boyfriend makes tilapia for me when I am on a diet and he cooks it in lemon juice and lemon pepper and it gets to the point where I understand why bears love fish so much.
