Re: the math thing, I can understand that. *hugs you* The reason why I thought it was an interesting post is because I didn't think the OP was focusing on skills on an individual level and what we should or shouldn't be able to do, so much as what it says about our society that makes it okay for women to offhandedly make jokes about themselves not being able to do math (or read maps or what have you, because I hear that one a lot too); or to giggle away or downplay our intelligence in general. It's something I saw throughout school and still see from time to time, and I think it doesn't help that many of us internalize that message.
