I'm now up to SGA ep 3x04 "Sateda" (why yes, you may get mildly spammed with this at random intervals as I work my way through the series; wot?). Anyway, just an awesome Team episode, I love the ensemble ones most of all. And RONON. ♥ Yay for character development.

Heh. Given the fact we usually have similar taste in television shows it's almost tempting to start watching this...

Except I already watch too much tv. Way too much tv. It's sad how much tv I watch I think. Whether it's on my computer or on the screen :-P

Is it a show that's ended already? Or is it still ongoing?

You should! It's ended now; I think it ended this year or end of last year after five seasons, so you'd never have to wait for an ep. *g* I was surprised how much I like SGA, to be honest. I've never been interested in space travel shows and such. But I love the cast/characters and they all play off each other so well, and I'm a sucker for a great ensemble cast. *points at Grey's*

And I think you would LOVE Rodney. Oh man.

I watch too much TV too, obviously. -_-'

Hmm, a character you think I would love...

I think next day I have off I'll find a way to...acquire the first season to see :) It's worth a try. I thought I would dislike most of those space shows, but I really liked Battlestar Galactica when I finally gave it a shot, so anything's possible! (oh, and Firefly, short lived as it was)

Also, you need to read Cate's Iowa verse and Ces's Sheppard's Law and Written by the Victors

The first two of those are McShep, the third is a little more complicated than that (there is also Teyla)

Sateda is truly one of their masterpieces. I call it the SGA Matrix--SO. BADASS. Plus its chock-full of character moments, which you don't tend to get on an episode so full of awesome action.

And John Sheppard is truly awesome. Let me know if you'd like some story recs :D

It WAS very Matrix-like! It had a great combo of lovely character moments and beautifully choreographed violence. *g* Loved it. XD

Oh! And recs would be awesome! I've been wearing my del-icio-us account out with all the bookmarking I do.

Excellent! What do you like to read, before I start regurgitating recs all over creation? I mostly read McKay/Sheppard but I can rec some good other stuff, too :)

I like McKay/Sheppard for slash (though I am intrigued by the John/Ronon dynamic), and as far as het goes, John/Teyla are charming my socks off right now. But really, I'll read anything you think is good.

I have nothing useful to add, just cheering that your rapidly catching up in my other kryptonite. lovetheboys and I are running a Team AU Fest over at team_sga, posting to start on May Day. If you're not caught up by then, let me know where you are and I'll point out safe stories and art.

Yep! Definitely the mess hall scene. I'm not ashamed to admit I've probably watched the clip about ten times by now. *loves all over Teyla and John*

Also, I'm all over that Team AU fest! I'll be reading. Team FTW. The amount of great fic in this fandom is more than a bit intimidating (which I reckon is not surprising since it looks like lots of SGA writers are writing Merlin fic as well) so I don't know how much writing I'll be able to work myself up to -- but it might be too tempting not to try writing Teyla at least once when I'm finished all my Merlin and HP commitments.

(and heh, at the rate I'm gobbling up these episodes I will probably be finished by May, or nearly.)

Yay! If you can work yourself up to it, there really aren't all that many great Teyla writers in the fandom. tielan and ladyjax would certainly welcome you.

SGA fandom is a little easier to sort, though - there's McShep and everything else. Worse than Merlin by a long shot, because at least Merlin often has other pairings or potential pairings swirling around it's main one(s).
