I was talking to my mom on the phone this morning, and she told me she isn't doing a tree this year. They're older now, and everyone's now moved out and they get tired of doing the whole big family thing because it's a lot of work for them ( Read more... )

I miss having a tree. It's so nice having it there, sadly there just isn't enough room for it. I'll have to wrap some tinsel around the chimney or something. :)

I haven't had my own tree since moving out, so it's kind of nice having it, I have to admit.

*hugs*

It's funny, I got one when I moved out! Just living with Grandma every bit of the room is taken up, just no room for my huge plastic thing. :)

Christmas this year is so weird for me. Without my gran here, I'm just not that motivated to do anything. I need to send out cards, finish buying the kids gifts, and wrap stuff, but I just lack the holiday spirit. I do like seeing our tree but, yeah, that's about it. Heh.

OOooo. I have a little mini one I got from Trader Joe's in the corner of my room. It's small and cute and came with lights and smells really good. I actually need to go water it. And ... it's in a pot. I can plant it in the spring :) Heh.

Good for you!!!

We did a real tree last year and I must say it will never happen again. I commend you for the effort! My parents didn't put up a tree this year either, so I know the feeling.

*grins* My parents did fake trees for the longest time -- I guess I wanted to try a real one for the first time since I was a girl. Lot more work, though, haha.

Also ♥ Yeah, I was like "wait, so ... no tree? D:" Apparently I'm more into Christmas than I thought I was. :P

Christmas isn't Christmas without a tree :) Even in my tiny little apartment I had a cheap one I got from the...dollar store or some place like that, just because it didn't feel like the holidays without it. This year Christmas hasn't really felt....well, joyful and Christmasy really, but now that the tree is up it's helping.

Enjoy "hosting" Christmas. I imagine lots of work involved, ha.

You know, I haven't felt very Christmas-y this season, either. I think that might be why I got the tree in the first place and why my parents not wanting to do it made me so frowny this morning.
