New Facebook and Twitter crossposting option for LJ.

I'm confused, so people can actually crosspost their individual comments in other peoples' journals onto Twitter and Facebook (which would include a link back to the entry)? Even if it's f-locked or screened?

If this is true, then it's not so terrible because if the post that the FB entry links back to is locked, strangers who follow the link would only see Frank anyway. Still, it makes me uncomfortable and seems like another way for LJ to be pointlessly annoying. Since I'd never use this feature, it wouldn't really bother me, except that we can't opt out of having our journals linked back by other people, so I think it does bother me, a lot.

Also, frankly, Facebook... kind of annoys me? And I do not want even my public posts to be floating around on there, so can I just say, those of you who comment here, if you could not crosspost any of those comments to your Twitter or FB page that would link back to my journal? No, seriously. I'm considering disabling comments and shuttling people over to my DW posts to avoid this. For some reason I don't mind my stuff getting linked around fannish spaces, but Facebook is an entire world of stupid that I generally like to limit my participation in. Not to mention the separation between RL and fandom that I've managed to maintain pretty well up until now.

So... I reckon that's all I have to say about that. (except, I have about 10 DW invite codes for whoever wants one.)

eta: Nifty! Firefox users, if you download Greasemonkey and use this script, you can apparently make this problem go away without LJ's help. I'm going to try it when I get home.
