+ Obama requests the HHS instate a rule to allow hospital visitation rights for same-sex couples. Operation Bring The U.S. Into This Century continues apace; in other news, I love that man.

+ A la carte icons for LJ! Before LJ started being weird on every level I can remember wanting these very much. As it is, I might be more excited if it weren't ( Read more... )

It's crazy how much stuff we need to CATCH UP ON as a country! But I'm glad for the baby steps.

I'm going with legend of the seeker because I can't handle depressing merlin meta at the moment (and ALL Merlin meta depresses me. I GET IT. THE SHOW TREATS WOMEN LIKE CRAP AND IT'S BLOODY INFURIATING.) I'd rather have a post of squee and pretty, tbh. (I'll get round to fixing Merlin when I'm the Creative Director of Shine in ten-twenty years time and get a chance to remake it; or just make a new show entitled 'Guinevere and Morgana: The Lost Years In Which They Are Awesome And Have Swords').

I would watch that show RELIGIOUSLY.

Hahaha ILU and I can't wait until you are the Creative Director of Shine (you TOTALLY will be, btw). And I am looking forward to LotS squee; only reason I haven't done already is because I haven't had time. *g*

And yeah, part of why I haven't made that G/M post, apart from the lazy-factor, is because I don't think I want to face my feelings, or engage in the depressing Merls meta. :P Post wouldn't be about the gender fail - or at least, it wouldn't be the *main* focus (since where they're involved there is always fail). It's more me trying to make sense of things from a Watsonian standpoint and reconcile both seasons, which is a bit different from my usual "FUUUUuuUuUUU WRITERS" approach. :P

Johnny Capps is currently Creative Director of Shine, and he's been involved with the creation and writing of ALL the stuff I like about television currently (including Britain's first and only comedy about lesbians living in Briton featuring Lenora Chrichlow; WHHHHY did those bastards at Channel 4 axe Sugar Rush? WHHHHY?) so I figure it's his job I should be after. :P

Still I tend to avoid the stuff that I KNOW will depress me about Merlin. I get a lot out of being a member of the fandom and I don't want to get too upset about the aspects of the show I'm not in a position to change (YET).

I heard the story about Obama's memorandum this morning and got a little giddy. I love how personal it felt. Baby steps, but we're getting there ;)

I voted for the Gwen meta, though the Morgana/Gwen meta was a close second. I think your promise of controversy won me over. Bring on the drama! \o/

No really, I'm just curious about your thoughts :)

hahahaha no, it's because you are EVIL.

You've probably got a good idea of my thoughts on this actually, but articulating them would be good - they are positive thoughts! Just ... possibly heretical. *g* And I like a bit of lively discussion.

oh yeah, and i voted gwen & morgeezy's relationship meta (in addition to gwen's characterization) because i feel that in the midst of our collective heartbreak over them in 2x11 and 2x12, i never read any good analysis of what actually happened ... only what people wish would've happened. just to give it a little extra oomph down here.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'd want to do. Not that it'd be less heartbreaking, but it's worth trying to pick up the threads and tie them together, just to make sense of what happened. Hell, they didn't even have that many scenes to analyze. -__-'
