i did somewhat, but not all the way. I really didn't see it going down Sawyer/Anthony Cooper style. And what made me doubt the murder act itself is the root of the whole problem - why work so hard to resurrect someone you murdered? my only assumption is that when Ben finally did go to Hawking, she said something about how he was needed or whatever.
what makes it worse is that you're not sure if it was a good thing he killed Locke or a bad thing. Was he supposed to prevent the suicide for some reason? is that somehow against what's "needed"? did his foretold "death" need to be murder or something? damn damn damn intriguing.
Seems to me, Locke is substituting for Christian. It's like they're trying to bring in as many of the original circumstances as they could (Sayid in chains, Hurley toting the guitar...) and Locke is Jack's luggage.
Also, it would fit the writer's MO that it might be something that they've not even come close to releasing for a season or two...
