Lots to catch up on. I'm at dionysusdevotee's family's house in Santa Clara having a quiet moment in the middle of lots of hubbub. I feel like I've spent most of the last few weeks away from home, between visits to the city for birthdays, blessingways, solstice, christmas, and it's not over yet

We get most members through 'adoption', is all.

Things have been stretched-and-stressed by the rapid growth as it is.

Uh, I was talking about Feris not raising a lot of children. That's not at all the same thing as initiating people into the tradition. At least, I hope not. If you know anybody who is giving Craft initiations to children, let me at 'em. Otherwise, we are talking about different things. I think initiating an adult into a mystery tradition is a very different kettle of fish from pushing a child out through your uterus and being legally responsible for everything from their basic survival to education and behavior for the next 18 years. Nor do I think that a child born to a Feri initiate is automatically one of "us".

The growth you are talking about has nothing whatsoever to do with bearing children.

I recently was contemplating my unique position as a Feri and a mother. At the time, it made me feel isolated and a bit saddened. Then I became inspired to create something new. There are parts of Feri that can be shared with children and I'm excited about weaving new Feri-tales (heehee).
