Jackie winces, and then gives a low laugh, when Rose pushes him down on the couch with enough force to make him knock his head against the armrest.

Even better is the fact that there's nobody to make him feel guilty about it, nobody to give him the silent treatment when he comes home late after being gone all day, nobody to make snide comments about his girlfriend without knowing anything about her. When he comes home smiling after being with Rose, he's still smiling when he goes to bed, and there's nobody to take that away from him now.
